Spigner takes over full ownership of the Heroes in 2013 after spending the 2012 season as a team partner This will be Barbara’s fourth year in indoor football as an owner having been the owner of the Florence Phantoms in 2008 and 2009, a partner in the Heroes in 2012 and now the full owner of the Heroes moving forward. Her teams have amassed an overall record of 25 wins and 12 losses over three years and many of her players have moved up to the next level. In 2012 as a partner in the Cape Fear Heroes, the Heroes went on to an undefeated season with a 9-0 record including a 79-27 win over the California Eagles in the American Indoor Football Championship Game. In 2008 her Phantoms won the Eastern Division Championship with a 10-4 record, the Phantoms then went on to defeat the Huntington Heroes in the first round of the playoffs, followed by the Reading Express in the Eastern Conference Championship before defeating the Wyoming Cavalry 48-12 to win the AIFA Championship Bowl at the Florence Civic Center. Barbara was also named AIF Owner of the Year that year Barbara is a longtime resident of Fayetteville where she is in the health care industry as the owner of Spigner Management Systems, Inc and BJ Hill and Associates. She also serves on the Board of Adjustment and the Nursing Home Advisory Board. Barbara has two daughters Crystal Williams and Charlotte Patterson and three grandchildren Mercedes Patterson and Lauren and Londen Williams. |
